Posters!

Sarah Howell July 28, 2017

We added posters to the shop! So far, we have Atlanta Skyline and both of the navy and cream versions of The Hunt. It's difficult to find large artwork that doesn't break the bank for kids rooms. Sarah and I like to mix in plenty of adult pieces to our kids rooms so it feels in line with the rest of our houses. Our favorite babies and kids rooms feel warm and comfortable with antique furniture and fun children's accessories, ones that are not in bright primary colors. We hope our prints (and now posters) can tie those vintage heirloom pieces you already own with all the toys and stuffed animals :)

We are super excited to share some news soon about new products and events coming up, so check back in soon!

Looks we love: Summer Shopping

Sarah Howell July 13, 2017

Karla here! Our family just got back from Savannah, one of my most favorite places in the world. We played in the fountains, swam in the ocean, and walked all over in the heat. Lucie rode her new trike all over the city, and absolutely loved it. I'm pretty sure she thinks she is steering it and fully powering it, (we were steering for sure) which made her so happy. She won't sit in a stroller now for long, and can't keep up with us walking. It was the perfect solution for visiting a city, and I can't recommend it enough! Speaking of highly reccomended things, here's some of our summer faves:

1. Vaenait baby PJs

2. The most comfortable shoe EVER! Toms Clog

3. Zara Swan Dress

4. Radio Flyer Trike

5. Who What Wear for Target Dress

Looks We Love: Sweet Toddler Girl Room

Sarah Howell June 14, 2017

Lucie, 2-1/2 years old, is getting a toddler room makeover! This sweet girl loves her pinks. Karla chose pieces that reflect both Lucie's girlie style and the overall style of their home. Can't wait to show you the finished product. Check out our Pinterest page here to see what else Karla (and Lucie) pulled together for this big girl room.

Summer activities for toddlers in the Southern heat

Sarah Howell May 30, 2017

Most of the South is HOTT (extra T for emphasis) in the summertime. I (Sarah) am originally from Bristol, TN and though it gets hot in the summer months, I was in for a rude awakening when we moved to Georgia. Now that I have littles, I am always on the hunt for activities for them that are engaging and fun for the whole crew. I have rounded up 5 Summer activities geared towards toddlers:

  1. Find a splash pad and be a regular. These little water-splashing, concrete pads are a toddler oasis. Not to mention, there are usually some cool mom pals that you can stalk befriend. If you find yourself in the ATL area, the Atlanta Zoo near Grant Park has a lovely splash pad.

  2. Puppet show or Playhouse. This is one of our very favorite things we have done in the city. Most larger cities will have them and they are a wonderful way to take up a morning. The Center for Puppetry Arts is the place to be if you are near Atlanta. I think I enjoyed the show as much as my toddler!

  3. Find a large, open indoor space with air conditioning and let them roam free (while staying two feet from them always, of course). For you, this might be a mall or an area gym. For us, this is most certainly Ponce City Market. We like to go super early in the A.M. before it gets crowded and make laps around the food hall. My best mom friend and I grab a latte and spend the next hour or so chasing some toddlers around in circles. It's glorious.

  4. Bring the toys to the park! This is one of our new favorite pastimes. Maybe everyone has been having a blast doing this all along, but we are fairly new to this club. If your kid is like mine, I spend 98% of our time at the park chasing him around and rescuing him from falling off the "big guy" slide. Enter bulldozers, dumptrucks, and toddler golf clubs. I throw them in the stroller and no joke, my almost three year old will spend nearly an hour digging in one spot. ALL THE PRAISE HANDS!

  5. The Farmers Market. This is a weekend go-to for our family. Nearly every city will have at least one, so just do a quick Google search. Ours normally sports live music, fresh treats, and all the puppies that one toddler can handle.

Lucie's and Karla's favorite beauty buys

Sarah Howell May 23, 2017

One day Lucie and I were looking in the mirror together when she cocked her little curly-haired baby head, pointing to a spot of empty hair, "bow?" I was completely in happy shock. She'd only said three words so far, and I had never even encouraged that word the way I had goofily nurtured the word "momma" for months. From then on she has been a pink-loving, bow-wearing girlie girl, and I love it. Everyday Lucie, now two years old, attempts to raid my make-up drawer, and usually succeeds in applying Chapstick to her entire face. It's a stressful and funny morning routine, part keep-away, part oh-go-ahead and use all my blush.

Here are some of our recent purchases we are loving...
